What are the opening hours?

We attend every day, on appointment.
For appointments you can call our office at +34 616885104, send us a whatsapp or contact us by email: [email protected]
Phones are answered during the following hours:
Monday - Friday 9.00 - 16.30,  if you don't receive an answer straight away please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as possible.
 

We do not make appointments in the weekends. If you need to see a doctor in the weekends or evenings, without emergency, there is the possibility to go to the CUAP (Centres d’urgències d’atenció primària) the public health centres that are open 24 hrs all the days of the year. 061 for ambulances or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital. 

Do you see patients face to face?

Yes, we see patients at the clinic la Rotonda. Passeig de Sant Gervasi 55 in Barcelone. If needed we can also schedule a video-consultation. 

Do you do COVID-testing?

No, we do not to COVID testing for travel purposes. There are many hospitals, laboratories and local clinics where you can make an appointment.

How does the virtual consultation work?

You need a computer/laptop or phone with working camera. When your appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email with a link. For attending the appointment, the only thing you need to do is clicking on the link and you will be forwarded to the virtual waiting room. When the doctor is ready to see you, you will be picked up from there. 
We use our patient-database system for virtual consultations. This is a secure, encrypted connection, fulfilling all GDPR requirements.

How can I pay for my visit?

At the clinic you can pay with card or cash. 
A consultation online needs to be paid in advance. This can be done by bank transfer or Bizum. 
A home visit can be paid in advance, with card or can be paid in cash at the end of the consultation, cheques are not accepted.

How long does it take to get lab results?

Most lab results are back in 3 days. However some tests take a longer time to process.

How do I request a referral?

Each insurance company policy varies, but in general the doctor needs to see you first, prior to referring to the correct specialist.

Is Barcelona Family Doctor working with any insurances?

We do not have an agreement with health insurances. Most private insurance companies will reimburse 80% -100% of the costs of your medical treatment,  depending on your policy. We strongly advise to check this with your insurance beforehand. 

I have a Dutch medical insurance or travel insurance. Will they pay for my consultation?

You will first have to pay for your consultation, then submit the invoice to your insurance. Normally travel insurances cover medical visits. If you travel with your health insurance only, It depends on your policy if they will reimburse you. For both cases we advise to check with your insurance beforehand.
